'Hadoop' namespace does not exist when building

Feb 21, 2013 at 2:26 PM
Hey guys, I grabbed the latest nuget package for Hive but while intellisense and the Object Browser all see the types and namespaces under Microsoft.Hadoop.*, when I go to build I get a compilation error that "The type or namespace 'Hadoop' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft'". This is in a basic class library on VS2012, .NET 4.0.

This is the code I'm trying to build:
using Microsoft.Hadoop.Hive;
using NUnit.Framework;

namespace HiveTest
{
    [TestFixture]
    public class HiveLinqTest
    {
        [TestCase]
        public void TestSelect()
        {
            var con = new HiveConnection("host", 10000);
            con.ExecuteHiveQuery("select * from events limit 10");
        }
    }
}

Does it make a difference if you switch the project to target 4.5 ?
